Bar 21 - Bacolod City

Last friday, after the prayer meeting of Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon Bacocold branch, some brothers and sisters decided to eat out. It was decided that we eat in Bar 21. This place is famous for it's batchoy. Bar 21 is located in 21st st. corner Lacson Avenue. Right accross 21 st. is Inaka (a Japanese restaurant) and across lacson Bob's Cafe.
I was reading Lasa (1990) a guide to dining in the provinces days ago and found out that the old name of this restaurant 21 food corner. It was a residence converted to a restaurant. The reason why it was really homey. You can chose to sit on a table or sofa. Our short stay in in this restaurant was really filling. Batchoy (ordinary, special, super) have generous servings. One sister made a remark that the size of the servings are large enough to wash one's face.
Other dishes are also served in this restaurants like steaks, sandwiches, desserts but I as not able to document it. Some dishes seem to be available on certain dates like Lola Nitang's Bibingka. Maybe next time, I'll prepare myself by skipping lunch.
Our bro Tony satisfied with the batchoy size of which we describe in Ilonggo as large enough to wash one's face (sobra ka daku nga daw pwede ipanghilam-os).
Tables are neat and adorned with Orchids.

The next layer of Batchoy, tiny noodles and meat (w/ liver if you want it special) If you want it served with an egg ask for the Super special
Dishes are well plated
The store is open 10 am to 11 pm everyday.
